TotalEnergies files for authorization for Centre Manche 1.5 GW wind farm
Eight months after being awarded the project by the French state, TotalEnergies' Centre Manche Energies filed for the single authorization for a 1.5 GW offshore wind farm more than 40 km off Normandy. The application includes technical and environmental surveys, a preliminary design and an installation plan, and starts government examination while consultations continue. The project is to generate around 6 TWh per year, supply about one million homes, represent a €4.5 billion investment and employ up to 2,500 people during a three-year construction phase, with sourcing focused on European suppliers.
