GCHQ head warns Russia targets UK critical infrastructure daily

Anne Keast-Butler, head of GCHQ, will use the agency's inaugural annual lecture to warn that Russia is relentlessly targeting critical infrastructure, democratic processes, supply chains and public trust across the UK and Europe, and to urge the public and businesses to make cyber security ten times more urgent. She highlights GCHQ work disrupting Russia's smuggling of western tech, fending off cyber attacks and countering sabotage and assassination attempts, and notes Britain's steadfast support for Ukraine. Earlier, NCSC head Dr Richard Horne said hostile states including China, Iran and Russia carry out most nationally significant attacks, with about four such incidents handled each week.
