Judge dismisses charges against former Fox executive and media firm
A federal judge in Brooklyn dismissed the indictment against former Fox International Channels CEO Hernan Lopez and South American company Full Play Group SA in a corruption case over TV rights for international soccer tournaments, accepting U.S. Attorney Joseph Nocella Jr.'s explanation that the prosecution does not fit the Trump administration's enforcement priorities. Lopez and Full Play had been convicted in 2023 of paying tens of millions in bribes, were later acquitted by the judge, and had convictions reinstated on appeal before additional appeals and a government motion to dismiss. The dismissal follows prosecutors telling the Supreme Court it is in the interests of justice.
