China court to study virtual currency and AI adjudication rules
China's Supreme People's Court announced it will study adjudication rules for virtual currency and cross-border finance and draft judicial interpretations on civil compensation for insider trading and market manipulation, judicial committee member Liu Guixiang said. The court also plans to examine judicial protection for artificial intelligence and data property rights, covering data ownership, transactions and AI-generated content. Officials said the move aims to produce clearer internal standards so courts decide crypto and AI intellectual property cases more consistently, coming after high-profile enforcement actions including the U.S. seizure of about $15 billion in Bitcoin tied to a suspected scam.
