Met Gala organizers set 2026 theme
The 2026 Met Gala in New York City will center on the theme “Costume Art” and the dress code “Fashion is Art.” The theme is linked to the Metropolitan Museum of Art’s Costume Institute spring exhibition, which organizers say will examine links between clothing, the body and artistic representations of the body. The exhibit will be open from May 10 through Jan. 10. The Met CEO Max Hollein said the show will pair garments from The Costume Institute with artworks from across The Met’s collection. Beyonce, Venus Williams and Anna Wintour will co-chair the gala, with Anthony Vaccarello and Zoe Kravitz co-chairing the host committee.
