Philadelphia to host free One Philly unity concert July 4
Philadelphia will stage a six-hour free concert called "One Philly: Unity Concert For America" on the Benjamin Franklin Parkway on Saturday, July 4, to mark the nation's 250th anniversary. The event, hosted by Wanda Sykes and featuring Christina Aguilera, Will Smith, DJ Jazzy Jeff, the Roots, Jill Scott and others, is produced by ESM Productions with executive producers Scott Mirkin, Shawn Gee and Ahmir "Questlove" Thompson. Organizers describe it as nonpartisan and expect it to be the largest free concert in America, with a global broadcast and an 11:45 p.m. fireworks finale over the Philadelphia Museum of Art.
