1X starts NEO robot production in California
1X has begun full-scale production of its NEO humanoid robot at a 58,000-square-foot factory in Hayward, California. The facility employs more than 200 workers and can produce up to 10,000 robots annually, with plans to expand beyond 100,000 units by 2027. The company said first-year production capacity sold out within five days of its October launch. NEO is intended for home use, including mobility support, light household activity, and routine interaction. Robots are now going to internal testing, validation, and research, with early access customer shipments expected in 2026. Each robot uses NVIDIA's Jetson Thor platform and Isaac simulation tools.
