The revised proposal would limit uranium enrichment to 3.5 percent and gradually reduce Iran’s enriched uranium stockpile. It also offers a gradual reopening of the Strait of Hormuz in exchange for lifting the US blockade. Sources said Tehran has dropped its demand for US troop withdrawal from the region but wants an end to the US military buildup near its borders and international guarantees against future attacks. Trump said he was unlikely to accept the earlier proposal.
