Niagara Regional Police say they arrested nine suspects, including seven youths, connected to separate auto theft networks responsible for over 112 vehicle thefts across southern Ontario. The probe began after an April 2025 Lexus SUV theft and expanded into Project Jack Links in December, with detectives investigating more than 50 thefts and attempted thefts in the Niagara region since November 2025. Investigators say the groups targeted newer Lexus and Toyota vehicles for transport out of province and overseas resale, with estimated losses exceeding $20 million; warrants remain outstanding for two men and more charges are anticipated.
