Tennis players criticize Roland Garros prize money
Organisers said total prize money for this year's French Open will rise 9.5 per cent to €61.7m, but leading players including Carlos Alcaraz, Jannik Sinner, Aryna Sabalenka and Coco Gauff remain dissatisfied. Their statement says players' share of Roland Garros revenue is projected to fall to 14.3 per cent and argues that the grand slams have not addressed welfare, consultation or governance concerns. The FFT said increases were focused on qualifying players and early main-draw exits, cited an 11 per cent rise for the first three rounds, and said tournament revenue is reinvested in tennis and infrastructure.
