AFC schedules Asian Cup draw for May 9
The AFC said the Asian Cup 2027 draw will be held on May 9 at the historic At-Turaif District in ad-Dir'iyah, Saudi Arabia, after an earlier April 11 plan in Riyadh was postponed following the outbreak of the Middle East war. The federation said the move was made to ensure full participation by key stakeholders and participating member associations. The tournament, its 19th edition, is scheduled for January 7 to February 5 next year, with Riyadh, Jeddah and Al Khobar hosting. Twenty-three of 24 teams are confirmed, with Lebanon and Yemen to decide the final berth on June 4.
